Chapter 235 Tempted To Fight
On seeing the unnecessary attention his wife had garnered to herself plus the embarrassment, Tan Enlai took it upon himself to drag her out from there.
Walking towards her, the corner of his lips moved up a bit, forming a smile, but his eyes remained cold.
The fake smile was just a formality because of their
"Xiaoling, what are you doing?" His gentle voice asked as he walked over to her side, pretending to be unaware of the humiliation hovering over her.
Zhang Xiaoling turned her gaze to him, and seeing the anger in his eyes, she panicked within her, but quickly tried to savage the situation which turned out worse.
"Liling, you are thinking too much. My mother would never hurt you. Well, just come back to visit if you can. It\'s not good to disturb other people."
While making her last statement, she glanced at Fang Bingwen, hinting at something obvious.
Instantly, Zhang Liling\'s finger on the table clenched in a fist as her brows furrowed.
With her gaze narrowing at the crazy woman before her, she felt her blood boil, and unable to hold her emotion she tried to stand up, but Fang Bingwen stopped her by holding her arm.
Her attention was immediately distracted as she turned to look at the man holding her with a calm expression on his face.
Raising a questioning brow at him, she tried to shrug her arm away from his food as it was itching to hit someone, but he didn\'t relent.
\'Would you just let me settle a score with her.\' She said to herself as her brows furrowed further.
Zhang Liling had forgotten where she was and if Mr. Fang did not hold her back, she would have shown her crazy side to everyone.
Who did she want to embarrass? Well he would not let her do they as long as he was with her.
Thankfully, Tang Enlai came and pulled Zhang Xiaoling away.
While holding her hand, he bowed while apologizing to the Fang Family.
"I\'m sorry, but it looks like my wife has had a little too much to drink."
Quickly, he pulled her hand to leave, and she followed him without resisting.
"Mr. Fang, you should have allowed me to hit her at least once." Zhang Liling said in a low tone that only them could here while staring at Zhang Xiaoling ssbsue got pulled away.
There was a tinge of regret in her tone as her lips protruded a little.
Fang Bingwen released her hand and leaned into the table before asking in a calm tone.
"Should I have let you ruin my grandmother\'s party and embarrass me at the same time?"
Hearing his questions, Zhang Liling felt a little bitter and immediately turned to look at him as the guests gathered around them left with another set coming up.
"Are you only interested in yourself? Didn\'t you hear her suggestive words? We haven\'t even done anything yet. I don\'t like someone accusing me of what I am yet to do."
Mr. Fang stared wordlessly at her not knowing what to say.
There were moments when he felt like pocketing her so she wouldn\'t have the chance to exhibit her stubbornness, and today was a part of it.
Just what in the world goes on in her mind all day?
Speechless at her actions, he threw his face away while saying in a low tone. "Don\'t pick up a fight in public."
He would wait for another opportunity before telling her the consequences of fighting in public. He would not accept that wild behaviour.
Finally when the guests stopped coming for a toast as the event moved on, Jian Cuifen glanced at Zhang Liling to ask with a surprise glint flashing past her eyes.
"Liling, that Lady that cane over here to cause a commotion is your stepsister?"
As soon as she asked that question, the other members of the Fang Family immediately turned to glanced her way withh interest.
Seeing the way Zhang Xiaoling had acted while trying to embarrass, they really wanted to know her origin.
Without thinking it twice, Zhang Liling answered her question immediately.
"Yes Aunty, she is my stepsister, Zhang Xiaoling"
Since Zhang Xiaoling had already started to ruin her reputation in public, Zhang Liling would make sure to be her best personal assistant.
"If she is your sister, why was she trying to embarrass you?" Old Lady Fang asked with furrowed brows.
The old lady seemed to have been disturbed by Zhang Xiaoling\'s actions and her old eyes could tell her petty acts.
"I don\'t know. I have been in Paris since the past year, but it looks like she has changed a bit." Zhang Liling shrugged.
Whatever thstw as up with her stepsister, she didn\'t think there was a need to concern herself with it.
If she thought about it, she knew that she wouldn\'t be able to resist killing her.
She could already get some ideas with the way she came over to clink glances with Mr. Fang, plus the look she gave him at the end of her statement.
A long sigh escaped the old Lady\'s lips. Feeling pity for Zhang Liling, she took her hand in hers and patted it lightly.
"It\'s good that you moved out. That Shi Wenqian is no good and anything from her will surely be the same."
Hearung the comforting tone of the old lady, a smile finally appeared on Zhang Liling\'s face.
As soon as Tnag Enlai pulled Zhang Xiaoling back to their table, he used up every atom of self-respect in him to stop himself from lashing out on her right there.
What kind of embarrassment did she just bring to his family because of jealousy.
Unfortunately because of other guests at their table, he couldn\'t even show his deep annoynace on his face talk more of scolding her a bit.
The discomfort he felt in his heart was so deep that he didn\'t even bother to stay till the end of the party. He needed a release or he would go crazy in the middle of the party, so he leaned over and whispered with a mixture of anger and frustration in his tone.
"I\'m leaving right away. If you want you can follow me but if you don\'t want to do that, fine. I believe that you can always find your way home."
As soon as he finished making that statement while hiding the displeasure contoured on his face, he turned to the other guests with a smile and said his farewell before standing up to leave.
Normally, he would have gone to the Fang Family\'s table to big his farewell, but he couldn\'t, not after the little commotion Zhang Xiaoling brought.
