Chapter 179 Rob A Store
"Grandma, what are you doing here?" Mr. Fang asked as his knitted brows knitted in a frown while taking a step forward to descend the stairs.
A voice went off in his Zhang Liling\'s head immediately.
\'Grandma? That old lady is his grandmother?\'
At that sudden realization and coupled with the fact that she could no longer hide behind Mr. Fang since he stepped forward, she immediately spurned on her heels and disappeared from sight.
Mr. Fang\'s brows arched as he could hear the retreating footsteps behind. \'Is she running away?\' He looked amused after his deduction and felt like giving her a hard time by calling her back.
But because his grandmother was a handful and would probably take the reins in the conversation if he involved her, he decided to let her go.
Old Lady Fang seemed excited to see her grandson as her smile immediately reached her eyes, forming a stricks of wrinkles at the corner.
"I have to attend a meeting my old friends organized so I decided to come over to see you and luckily, here you are, about to leave for work."
In long strides, Mr. Fang reached her side. As he stood beside her, the contrast in their height difference became very obvious.
Now, the old lady had to raise her neck to meet her grandson\'s gaze.
Sighing, Mr. Fang took her hand and led her to the sitting room. "Do you have a moment for tea, you look like you are in a hurry."
"My grandson offered me a cup of tea, how can I refuse?"
Butler Gu who was following after them after leading the old woman into the house, he immediately turned to leave to go and fetch the tea.
After settling down on the sofa, Mr Fang said with his gaze on her, "What if you did not see me at home? You know I usually leave for work on time. Next time, call me before you come over, and how did you find this place?"
It was obvious from whom she got his address from, but he wanted to hear it directly from her lips.
He couldn\'t believe that his personal assistant would betray him so in case he was wrong, the old lady had to answer for herself.
The old lady being wise in age, refused to respond to him. "Are you unhappy that I know your place now? You don\'t have to worry that I will be intruding, I am only an old lady, I don\'t have that kind of time."
Fang Bingwen shook his head. "I am not worried about you coming over as you please. I am worried about other members of the family coming over without prior notice."
Old Lady Fang chuckled heartily and reache out for his brows to smooth them with her fingers. "You will get old quickly if you don\'t stop this bad habit."
Mr. Fang quickly reached out to pull her hands away from his brows.
He was already very displeased with her sudden presence and her refusing to answer his question.
The corners of her lips curled as she finay decided to left him be after detecting his irritated mood.
At that moment, Butler Gu arrived with a tray in hand before pulling a stool to a stop in front of the old lady. Next, he lowered his upper torso to out down the tray and left after serving the hot tea.
Picking up her cup, she held it in her hand and sniffed it and instantly, a smile spread across her wrinkled face.
Bringing her lips to touch the rim of the cup, she stole a quick glance at her grandson to see his gaze slowly relaxing.
Smiling to herself, she took a few sips from the cup before putting it back to the saucer.
"Wenwen, grandma will not betray you. I am the only one in the family who knows of this address."
Mr. Fang sighed in relief as his tightened face loosened up, but just when he was starting to get relaxed, he heard her ask, "Earlier, I saw a lady tailing you, won\'t you tell me who she is?"
He didn\'t look that surprised to learn that she saw Zhang Liling, it he was surprised that she could still remember to ask about her. Releasing a sigh after preparing on the answer to give to her, she gave him a knowing smile.
"Don\'t tell me she is your servant. She is too pretty and young to be your dosmetic helper, and with the way she stood so close to you at the stairs, your relationship seemed pretty close."
"Grandma, you don\'t have to concern yourself with the people in my office and at the company. Are you not leaving yet?"
He refused to give her the response she wanted and even tried to divert her attention to the reason she came down to City S in the first place, but that didn\'t work.
The old lady smirked. "You reay won\'t tell me who she is? Fine. But why did she run away after she saw me as if she was caught doing something wrong?"
Mr. Fang\'s gaze remained straight without the slightest sign of faltering. Feigning ignorance, he asked with raised brows, "Grandma, she had something else to do so she left after informing me about my breakfast, and which eyes did you use to see her running? I only thought she left hurriedly because her next task was urgent."
\'Sneaky boy. Is that how you want to put it?\' The old lady thought in her head before telling him, "You have improved in avoiding my questions."
"Grandma, if that is a compliment I will accept it." He said without batting an eye.
Finay, the old lady gave up on ever getting any satisfying answer to the questions she posed to him.
Sighing to herself, she picked up her teacup and took small sips before standing to her feet.
Mr. Fang immediately reached out to assist his old lady to her feet as relief watched over him.
"I will leave before your breakfast gets cold, you don\'t need to see me out." Old lady Fang said to him with a kind smile as she immediately hooked her handbag to her arms and turned to leave.
Mr. Fang paid no heed to her and immediately walked her to her car while chatting about work. After helping her into the backseat of the car, he closed the door and waved at her. He stood at one place with his palms inside his front pants pocket before going back inside the house after her car disappeared from his view.
When he returned inside the house, the teacup had already been cleared out, and he saw Zhang Liling tiptoeing down the stairs.
He scoffed as his irritated voice rang out, "What are you doing?"
Zhang Liling stopped in her steps and glanced over his shoulders. Seeing no one in sight and from the oathyhe was coming from, she guessed that his old lady must have left and immediately, her scrupulous gaze was replaced with a relieved smile.
She quickly rushed over the remaining steps and went to his side. If not for the last shred of composure left in her, she would have held unto his arms.
"Mr. Fang, has your grandmother left already?"
Fang Bingwen glared at that troublesome human before continuing in his steps towards the dining area, but she chased after him as usual, forcing him to retort.
"Where you expecting her to sleep over why you remained in hiding?"
Zhang Liling giggled and proudly admitted her fear.
"Mr. Fang you can\'t blame me, I was so scared to see your grandmother unexpectedly. What would she think of me clinging to her grandson right in front of her eyes?"
"So you are aware of your clingy habit?"
Zhang Liling scratched her head. What was she supposed to say? She had no response to give.
At last, Mr. Fang chased her away so he could see space to eat his breakfast peacefully.
Luckily, she knew when to leave, so she gave him the time he so wanted.
Over the weekend, Zhang Liling went for shopping. After several hours of shopping after pulling Tungmei with her, she returned to Mr. Fang\'s place with several bags.
Mr. Fang who had just returned from a casual meeting, stepped out of his car and was surprised to see the small woman holding several bags in her hands while struggling to open the door to the house.
He squinted his eyes as he stepped forward. He was alone today because Bolin did not drive him home.
Zhang Liling heard the footsteps behind her and turned around with a smile. She heard the sound of his car when it drew closer before pulling over.
"Mr. Fang you are back."
Fang Bingwen gave her a scrutinizing gaze including the several bags in her hand. "Did you rob a store?"
She laughed at his joke and replied, "I have been accepted to intern in your Fang group. I have been a student for 4 years now, so I have to refurbish my wardrobe to suit my new lifestyle."
Mr. Fang shook his head and walked past her. When he opened the door, he entered inside, leaving her to carry the bags inside the house all by herself.
