Chapter 334 - A Failed Trap
Chen Lihua\'s eyes met with K2, but she moved her eyes away within seconds. She could sense that something was wrong.
Two minutes later, her cell phone rang. She checked the caller ID and smiled when she saw the name.
"Darling!" she called out.
"Sweetheart, how are you?" Liu Longwei asked as he took a turn. He connected his phone to the car, so he was able to talk to her freely.
"I\'m fine. Where are you?" Chen Lihua asked.
"On my way to get you. Don\'t panic! Nothing will happen to you. I will be there for you," Liu Longwei spoke.
A smile played on Chen Lihua\'s lips as she said, "I am not panicking, but I will be waiting for you."
Those words I will be waiting for you finally put a smile on Liu Longwei\'s face.
"I will see you in a bit. I love you."
"I love you," Chen Lihua said lovingly.
After the call with his wife, Liu Longwei phoned AD. After receiving information from him and confirming some details from him, he sped up.
Chen Lihua took a bottle of water, uncapped it before drinking a little from it. She was beginning to feel a bit nervous, so she took deep breaths as she said some positive words to encourage herself.
Her words were inaudible. So, no one could hear. They could only see her closed eyes.
Something suddenly happened that made Chen Lihua open her eyes.
Their car slammed on its brake all of a sudden, and that caused her to jerk forward. But with the help of the seat belt, she was secured. It restricted her from colliding with the front passenger seat.
"I\'m sorry, ma\'am," the driver apologized. Though, It wasn\'t his fault, but he had to apologize because his mistress would have been injured from his action.
"Ma\'am, are you okay?" K2 asked while looking towards her in concern. He will be dead meat if anything happens to her.
If something happened to her just now, then his life would be over because he still needed to protect her from the greater danger. So, he couldn\'t put her life at risk.
"It\'s okay! I am fine. What happened just now?" Chen Lihua asked with a frown on her face. Although she didn\'t blame the driver, she was still a bit angry.
"Ma\'am, two power bikes blocked the road," K2 replied after confirming from his colleague in the car in front.
"Oh! They came too soon," Chen Lihua uttered as she tried looking out through the tinted glass windows of the car, but she couldn\'t see anything.
The driver and K2 swallowed hard, \'Ma\'am, what do you mean?\'
They felt like their mistress had an appointment with them, or must have collided with them for her to speak in such a manner.
"Do not come out from the car, and do not shoot no matter what happens. Stay indoors. Help is on the way!" a voice boomed in the car.
The voice belonged to AD. He was speaking to the bodyguards.
So the other bodyguards in the two cars heard his instructions the same way, so they stayed put.
"Ma\'am, please, I need you to stay calm! We will ensure your safety," AD directed this instruction to Chen Lihua.
Chen Lihua heaved a sigh as she relaxed. She couldn\'t tell what she was feeling right now. She knew she was nervous and couldn\'t wait to wake up the next morning lying next to her husband.
Even though she didn\'t want to think about what was happening, yet she couldn\'t stop those thoughts from coming to her head.
She started thinking of who was behind this act; and what they were after. From the connections she had, it was either they wanted to abduct her or kill her.
Well, she just hopes they won\'t succeed, because she wouldn\'t know what will happen to her if they did. She was even confused because she has never been in that kind of situation before.
Just before her thoughts could go any wilder, AD spoke again.
"Four incoming cars are coming your way. Stay put!"
The bodyguards in the first car could see things clearly. The two power bikes stopped some distance away from them with their headlamps and engine running, but their riders didn\'t take any action.
The bodyguards in the car were wondering why AD asked them to stay put when it was just two power bikes obstructing their path. But when they heard that there were four incoming vehicles, they knew that they would have fallen into a trap. They would have been at a disadvantage if they took a step out of the cars.
So they sighed in relief but became more alert as they waited for further instructions.
When the four cars arrived, they parked behind the power bikes. Then within seconds, the people in the four cars stepped out with firearms. They had a serious look on their faces as they walked forward.
One of them, who looked like their Boss, spoke up, "We came peacefully, so there will be no casualties if you listen to us obediently. Hand Miss Chen over to us."
\'Miss Chen?\' Chen Lihua thought.
This person that addressed her this way must have been sent from her family, or someone from her family\'s side.
If they were from Liu Longwei\'s side, they wouldn\'t have addressed her that way.
Chen Lihua began to wonder who would have sent these people to abduct her.
Seeing no reactions from any of them, the person who looked like their Boss spoke again, this time around impatiently.
"Just give up already and save our time. There is no way out for you, you have been surrounded, and no cars will pass through this road tonight, and your communications have been jammed."
Chen Lihua, and including the bodyguards, checked their phones and lines of communication and found out that they were not working.
AD saw the screen go blank and tried communicating with the bodyguards, but he couldn\'t succeed. So he gave the person in charge of the system two minutes to restore the communication.
After giving out the instructions, he contacted Liu Longwei.
"Boss, we lost communication and eyes on them."
"When did this happen?" Liu Longwei asked angrily.
"A few seconds ago. But it\'s good that we are well prepared. We only need enough time. But now we have lost sight of them. We will need to act fast," AD replied.
"I will be there in a minute. What of the military?" Liu Longwei asked.
AD received a notification from his wristband, so he smiled as he replied, "They just arrived there."
