Wedding Night: I Became the Female Supporting Character and Married the Villain!

Chapter 206 - Chapter 206: Lin Ping’s Collapse

“You like Luo Ying, don’t you?”

Lin Ping became quiet after meeting his friend’s questioning gaze. He did not want to lie to Jin Shi.

He’d become rather fond of Luo Ying.

These were certainly peculiar ideas to have. Luo Ying was a married woman and she had once pursued Lin Su with an almost maniacal fervor.

After ignoring Luo Ying for a while, Lin Ping unexpectedly developed feelings for her. It would seem odd to everyone who saw it.

Jin Shi’s eyes pierced into Lin Ping like a knife.

“Lu Wen bought out the Lin Family because of Lu Zhao, right?” With an icy smirk, Jin Shi set down his glass on the table. “With all of this happening, you developed feelings for Luo Ying?”

“Yes.” Lin Ping didn’t try to dispute it and instead gave a noncommittal response.

There was a trace of melancholy in his eyes as he surveyed the starless sky.

“I really don’t understand you now.” Jin Shi sounded distant. “Do you plan to go to war with Lu Zhao over Luo Ying? ‘ Lin Ping’s gaze became gloomy.

Jin Shi could not be any more accurate.

But that realization only made him more uneasy.

Although Lin Ping was only a friend he met after coming to this world, like Lu Zhao, Lin Ping was just a fictional character created by a string of soulless words.

However, Jin Shi felt a twinge of sadness at seeing Lin Ping’s suffering.

They were formerly close pals. In the past, Jin Shi would have done everything to help Lin Ping win Luo Ying’s heart.

But now he didn’t want his sister involved in such a mess.

“Let it go, Lin Ping. You know that Luo Ying hates you.” Jin Shi spoke slowly. He reached into his coat and gave Lin Ping a cigarette.

Lin Ping’s eyes glinted, and a cruel grin formed on his face.

“I never dared to admit this, but she’s such a capable woman. I enjoy being around her.”

He had been in love with Luo Ying ever since he watched her compete.

It was true that he had formerly held Luo Ying in low regard. It was obvious that he found Luo Ying to be nothing more than a distraction.

But now, he would do anythingto be with Luo Ying.

Jin Shi couldn’t stand looking at Lin Ping’s conflicted face any longer. He understood how it felt to not be able to obtain the person he loved.

“For everyone’s sakes, you should really let go. You know that you have to.” After lighting the end of the cigarette, he passed it to Lin Ping. Lin Ping let out a long sigh. “I need some time alone. There’s a lot on my mind.”

Jin Shi gave him a brief nod and returned to his quarters.

When Luo Ying saw Jin Shi return alone, she had a good idea of what had transpired.

She was nervous about approaching Lin Ping, but she knew she needed to do something.

Lin Ping stood atop the building for a long time. Finally, he extinguished the cigarette and sighed.

“Why are you here?” From out of nowhere, a woman’s voice spoke out.

Lin Ping jumped as though he had been jolted by electricity. He spun around to face Luo Ying.

Luo Ying had two glasses in her hands as she stood at the rooftop’s entrance.

“Why are you drinking by yourself?”

‘You know why.’ A fishbone seemed to be lodged in Lin Ping’s throat. He tried to speak the words, but they just wouldn’t come out.

Luo Ying turned to face Lin Ping. She looked sad.

“I’m fine.” Lin Ping let out a quiet sigh and turned away from her. “I apologize, but I lied to you. We did game together.”

Lin Ping felt some relief after hearing Luo Ying’s confession.

“I know, but you left me alone in the game, so that’s that.” His eyes were closed. The nightsky hid the muddled look on his face. He was silent and despondent.

He had dropped hints to Luo Ying in the game about couple’s watches and other accessories. He’d gone as far as to ask other gamers in the guild to help him plot out a confession to Luo Ying.

A sigh of relief escaped Luo Ying’s lips. “I’m sorry for lying to you. I learned my lesson the hard way. I’m married, so our relationship probably won’t go anywhere.”

Lin Ping lowered his gaze mournfully.

“Before she loved Lu Zhao, she hounded Lin Su. What are the odds of her switching targets to you now?”

Lin Jin had previously made fun of Luo Ying’s vacillating loyalties.

Lin Ping, however, fervently wished that Luo Ying would live up to those words for once..
