Sovereign of the Firmaments

Chapter 226 - Picking A Disaster

Lucas looked at the list of disasters in front of him as he thought about the advantages and dangers of each disaster.

\'Looks like these disasters are arranged in an ascending order depending on their danger rating.\'

While he was thinking about the advantages and the dangers of each disaster, Lucas noticed they were in ascending order with the first disaster as an easy one and the last disaster as an impossible disaster to complete with his current strength.

\'The headquarters of the assassin guild is situated in the top five firmaments and if it mobilized even a single assassin squad to seek revenge for what he did to the assassin guild leaders in the Barren firmament, I will be finished.\'

\'Also, if the royal families ignore heaven\'s punishment and want to eliminate me with their full power, I can\'t withstand them.\'

Within a second, Lucas eliminated the last three disasters from the list, leaving him with three disasters.

\'Even though I am lacking a high-level talent at the moment, I am not that desperate to upgrade it through the heavenly tribulations when the spirit realm is going to open in a couple of months.\'

In the spirit realm, finding the talent crystals for various professions was very easy. Even though he had to find the spirit beasts guarding them, compared to the nine heavenly tribulations, Lucas preferred to fight them.

So, another disaster got eliminated just like that.

\'Finally, it leaves me with two slightly dangerous disasters that I am confident in surviving; however, in these two disasters, there might be casualties.\'

Lucas didn\'t worry about the five rank 5 spirit beasts; instead, he was worried about the countless spirit beasts that came in the horde which would surely cause some fatalities to his men.

\'However, those who survived that spirit beast horde would become a lot stronger for sure.\'

It was the basic law of any world. As long as one goes through tough and dangerous situations, one becomes stronger.

\'System, by the way, will I still have this barrier and the same invincible prowess?\'

Even though he already knew the answer to the question, Lucas wanted to confirm it with the system once before picking a disaster.

\'Ding,

Yes. The host can retain the invincible prowess he gained from the Heavens.

\'I know already that I can\'t keep my….wait, what?\'

Lucas thought that during a disaster, there would be no barrier and his invincible prowess in the town; however, he was shocked to hear that he would still have both barrier and his invincible prowess.

\'Ding,

Yes. The system feature will push the disaster\'s date forward. It will not bother what method the host uses.

\'What the…\'

Lucas was excited when he saw the system notifications and thought, \'Why the hell am I thinking so much about these disasters. I will directly pick the second disaster which not only helps me train my men but it will even increase my family\'s grade.\'

Because of his misunderstanding, Lucas was thinking a lot about each disaster; however, once he learned that he was thinking a lot, he decided to stop thinking too much about it and clicked on the second disaster.

\'Ding,

Host, are you sure about it? Once you pick a disaster, you have to survive it no matter what.

\'I am sure.\'

Lucas nodded his head as he confirmed his decision regarding the second disaster.

\'Ding,

The host selected the disaster \'2) Three rank 5 evil portals (Slightly dangerous)\'.

\'Ding,

The disaster will start in three days of time. Please prepare everything.

\'Ding,

The host can get more details of the disaster by clicking it.

As soon as he confirmed his decision, a series of system notifications appeared in his head.

\'Three days is enough for everyone to take a good rest and recover their strength.\'

Since his family members just had a fight today, Lucas felt three days of time was more than enough for them to prepare.

\'Let\'s see the details of the disaster.\'

Even though he could get the main idea of what the disaster would be, Lucas wanted to learn completely about the disaster.

\'Ding,

Disaster name:- Three rank 5 evil portals.

Details:- Three rank 5 evil portals will be opened around the Silverstone town with equal distance between them.

Rank 5 evil portal:- A high-level rank 5, three mid-level rank 5 and five low-level rank 5 evil spirit beasts including hundreds of rank 4 and thousands of rank 3 evil spirit beasts come out a rank 5 evil portal.

..

….

Lucas didn\'t even complete reading the information about the disaster before he stopped reading it as he frowned and thought, \'What? So many rank 5 evil spirit beasts form a single rank 5 evil portal?\'

Actually, there was not much information about the evil portals to the humans. So, no one really knows who many evil spirit beasts could come out of those portals.

However, depending on the rank of the highest evil spirit beast that comes out of the portal, the portal will be graded with the equivalent number.

Nevertheless, at most three rank 5 evil spirit beasts would come out of a rank 5 evil portal. At least, that\'s what the human records about the evil spirit beasts and the portals say.

So, Lucas was shocked to see so many rank 5 spirit beasts that would come out of a single portal.

\'So, overall, there will be 27 rank 5 evil spirit beasts and hundreds of rank 4 evil spirit beasts along with countless rank 3 evil spirit beasts. Can I survive this disaster?\'

Lucas doubted himself whether he could survive the disaster of this range or not.

\'Since I already chose the disaster, there is no going back now.\'

However, he controlled his emotions as he continued to read the remaining information about the disaster.

Lucas was not the type to give up just because the mission was impossible. The same applies to disasters too.

\'But…\'

At the end of the information, Lucas saw something that made him shocked in a negative way.
