Chapter 167 Forced
After they finished feasting in the food hall of the Silverflame Camp, the 352nd Hunting Unit made their way back to the two tents that had been assigned to them.
As one of the lowest-ranked Hunting Units, it was already generous to have two tents. That was what Jeremy told Zayn.
However, Zayn couldn\'t really agree with this. He was pretty sure that nobody would like to spend their nights in the two ragged tents that were more like torn pieces of cloth rather than a place anyone could sleep.
"That is where you guys slept for the last few weeks? I think that I had a better time sleeping in the cavern hall for the last few weeks…" Zayn pointed out, shaking his head in denial.
He couldn\'t really understand how Jeremy could consider the two tents acceptable.
"Well, you will get used to it," Jeremy said with a shrug while trying to hide his embarrassment as well as possible.
Jeremy also knew that the two tents were ridiculous. It was not possible to sleep soundly inside them, forget about comfort. One could say that it was a wonder nobody complained about waking up with aching all over the body.
Jeremy felt like a dagger was plunged into his heart when he heard what Zayn said. It was obvious that Zayn didn\'t mean it in a bad way, but the 352nd Hunting Unit\'s utmost effort was barely enough to give them a good enough rating to receive meals with low nutritional levels and two small tents that were on the verge of breaking apart.
"The weeding is in a few days, right?" Zayn asked all of a sudden, "What rank do we have to reach to get our own rooms in the barracks?"
"Room in the barracks? Why are you asking?" Mike asked in response while Kevin answered Zayn\'s question.
"To get our own rooms, we would have to advance to the 25th rank. It\'s also possible to get our own small hut if we reach the top 100 and pay a fee. Though, nobody ever did that. The Merit Points are too valuable to be wasted just for a better sleeping place.
"Top 100 and a fee? That\'s easy," Zayn responded, ignoring Mike\'s question. He used the Silvermoon Bracelet and retrieved over a dozen Soul Knight armaments, a bunch of expanding pouches, and some of the Artifacts he didn\'t use.
"There should be more than enough Armaments suitable for you. If there is anything you like, just pick it. The following days will be full of dangers!"
Zayn was ready to go all-in investing in the 352nd Hunting Unit. he was not sure how much of a difference the top 300 and the top 100 had in terms of achievements but he was pretty sure that they could change the tides with the increase in the 352nd Hunting Unit\'s strength and an additional member, him.
"We cannot accept these treasures. You should sell them, and pay for a room with the merit points y–..." Jeremy said, slowly grasping what Zayn was trying to do.
However, Zayn could only dare daggers at their leader.
"You either accept the equipment now, and work your ass off in order to attain as many achievements as possible, or I will force the equipment onto you and throw you into the most crowded areas once we go out to hunt!" Zayn announced with fire in his eyes.
He was extremely motivated at the thought of sleeping in a soft bed, and wouldn\'t allow anyone to destroy his dream.
"We will reach the top 100, pay the small fee and get our own hut!"
His fist was trembling in excitement, and he was ready to rumble.
With good food in his stomach and a plan in mind, his excitement knew no bounds anymore.
And all of that just for a nice and comfy bed to sleep in later!
Of course, there were many other reasons why he wanted to reach the top 100 of all Hunting Units, but Zayn felt that it was also a great opportunity to test the potential of the others, see how they would perform with new equipment, and how the other Hunting Units would respond to the sudden arrival of more rivals.
Zayn could tell that some Hunting Units would complain about his sudden appearance and that he had so much equipment to throw around. Many would try to do something sketchy, at least that was what Zayn thought…and he was actually looking forward to it.
"You were actually serious?" Kevin asked while taking a step closer to a Soul Knight Shield. It was pretty good, well balanced, weighted a considerable wage, basically perfect for him.
"But I don\'t think we can accept your gifts just like that. I don\'t know what others think, but your \'investment\' is too much. But if you loan us your armaments, we will return them once we collected enough merit points to buy our own equipment. If we give you a fee for loaning your equipment, you will make a good profit, we will feel better, and everyone will be happy, don\'t you think so?" Leona pointed out.
Her reasoning was valid. None of the members wanted to exploit Zayn\'s goodwill. They didn\'t really understand why Zayn wanted to give them his equipment in the first place, but it would certainly help them a lot.
As long as they paid Zayn a bit for his equipment, they wouldn\'t feel guilty and could strive toward earning more merit points and getting stronger.
That was the best solution Leona could think of for all sides. They would get their equipment and become stronger, allowing them to earn more merit points in a shorter period, and Zayn would get merit points and a higher chance of a bed.
"I am fine with that. In fact, I don\'t really care how we do it. I just thought that my Armaments are collecting dust and that they would be better off being used to protect someone."
The others smiled when they heard what Zayn said, and it was only a matter of time before everyone was fully armed with Armaments of above-average quality.
They accepted Leona\'s suggestion.
