Chapter 137 In The Hundreds
Now that Zayn gave Manager Tilan and his cohort enough time to gather, he left the wilderness.
He knew that Tilan wouldn\'t attack him too close to the city, which meant that he had to walk through the wilderness for a few hours before the city was not in sight anymore.
There weren\'t any other Adventurers nearby, and the weaker monsters were hiding as well. It was almost as if they could sense that something big was about to happen.
Zayn was already wearing his Elvia Leather Armor and a decent set of combat clothes beneath. It was obvious that he was ready to face the monsters in the wilderness. His hands were already laying on the pommel of the sheathed Dragontale Twin Sabers and it was almost as if he was waiting for something to happen.
Not much time passed before he encountered the Origin sources of different Souls. There were hundreds of them, flocked together, waiting for him.
\'Close to 400 Blessed? Well, that is a little unexpected!\' Zayn thought while continuing to make his way up to the small elevation of the verdant plains. There were a bunch of trees and bushes every now and then, but other than that, there weren\'t many areas one could hide well.
That was also why Manager Tilan and his people had moved behind the small elevating to make sure that Zayn wouldn\'t be able to see them.
Unfortunately, they didn\'t figure that his Sparrow Spirits were already flying through the air, circling in the air above the massive group of Blessed.
When he reached the peak of the small elevation, he was about to open his mouth and say something when he saw that a few dozen Blessed held bows and crossbows. The bowstrings were drawn-out and the arrow nocked on the strings could be released at any time.
As Zayn entered their sight, the Blessed released their arrows and crossbow bolts without hesitation.
They aimed precisely at him and the area around him. The moment he jumped backward or to the side he wouldn\'t be able to react fast enough and evade the other attacks.
\'Do they think I\'m stupid?\' Zayn wondered as he leaned his body forward to charge downward, straight to the enemies that were impatiently waiting for him. He deflected three arrows with precise slashes as he unsheathed the Dragontale Twin Sabers and pushed forward.
It would take a second or two before the Blessed could release another batch of arrows and bolts. That was taken into consideration as he dashed downward with a terrifying acceleration.
Soul particles surged through his body and Zayn had released some through his feet to make it possible to initiate an explosive spurt down the elevation.
Fireballs, Wind lances, water jets, and various other Elemental attacks materialized in front of him and released with the intention to kill him.
Neither Zayn nor Managre Tilan, nor his people, felt like talking. Both sides didn\'t want to waste their breath speaking to someone who was going to die, either way.
Despite that, it was a great surprise for most people on Tilan\'s side to see that Zayn was not only two if not three times faster than he had been in the challenge against the three-headed Chimera.
That, and the fact that Zayn seemed to have expected to face a \'surprise\' attack consistent with hundreds of powerful Blessed, was more than enough reason to feel a sudden sense of urgency. They felt pressured to kill Zayn as quickly as possible. It was almost as if they could feel the Dragontale Twin Sabers\' cold blades on their neck even though their opponent was not yet close enough to pose any danger.
The utter calmness and the confident smile on Zayn\'s face should have been enough to bother the 400 Blessed. However, lead by greed, and the thought of revenge were enough to blend out the important information.
Evading the incoming elemental attacks by changing his movements in the least predictable way, Zayn was given a few seconds to analyze the combat prowess of the Blessed in front of them.
\'More than half of them are probably Mercenaries who\'re after my Artifacts, probably including the Dragontale Twin Sabers. I see some familiar faces from the Adventurer Hall…and there are even retired Adventurers…looks like I attracted lots of interesting characters!\' Zayn concluded, smiling lightly as he understood that more than a hundred Blessed in front of him were at the Soul Knight rank.
Even ten would have been enough to face someone at Zayn\'s rank head-on, under normal circumstances.
Unfortunately, the circumstances were far from normal!
Zayn was in possession of powerful artifacts, which was not the case for most Blessed on the other side of the battlefield. He was a powerful Normie who had been strong enough to fight the mostly healed three-headed Chimera, by himself…and last but not least…he was not alone, in the first place!
\'I didn\'t really plan to add anymore Human Spirits to my register of Spirits…but if they\'re already lining up like that, I can hardly refuse, right?\'
Rather than swimming against the flow, Zayn chose to jump into the river and speed up a little by swimming in the flow. There was no reason for Zayn to reject more Spirits, more ownerless Soul Particles for him to absorb, armaments that could be sold for a fortune, and bodies that could be devoured by Glutton and turned into Soul Orbs.
He would be stupid to reject the precious resources the 400 Blessed threw at him willingly!
Zayn evaded most elemental attacks, he sliced through a few wind lances, earth spikes, and icicles until he was not even 20 meters from the nearest Blessed anymore.
He had yet to see Manager Tilan but that was a negligible fact. After all, he could search for that piece of work once everyone else was dead!
All of a sudden, Zayn slowed down, looked at the masses of 400 Blessed, and smiled brightly.
He accessed the Silvermoon Bracelet and threw a bunch of armaments out of the spatial storage.
A moment later, the Spirits emerged from the Grimoire of the Ancient.
Pandemonium awoke, and Zayn was exhilarated to witness everything firsthand!
"Kill!!"
