Chapter 14 Powerhouse
"You even brought the purple marbles? Crazy…"
Zayn took a proper glance to his left, where seven small purple marbles, two slightly larger purple marbles, and the silver iron shortsword lay on his torn backpack.
The Human Spirit had collected everything possible from within the Goblin Cave, which was quite impressive.
Seeing how the Human Spirit could swing around the Silver Iron Warhammer, Zayn couldn\'t help but be marveled.
\'How can you be stronger as a Spirit than when you were as a Skeleton? Did you absorb more soul particles?\'
He squinted his eyes in doubt but accepted the course of change rather easily. It was good that the Human Spirit was strong.
Zayn put aside the Silver Iron Shortsword to retrieve his only other set of clothes. He turned the pants into a weird-looking bag where the nine purple marbles were stored safely.
As for the torn backpack, Zayn ignored it after he stashed the remaining clothes in the pants bag as well.
Zayn picked up the shortsword once again after he was done organizing everything. He manifested the Grimoire of the Ancient in his free hand and the snippet of an empty page was revealed.
"Try to enter the Grimoire!"
According to his memories, Spirits that had been bound to the Grimoire of the Ancient\'s holder could be hidden in the empty pages. Walking around with the Human Spirit would attract too much attention because the Spirit looked just like a human, though bulky and hairy around the face.
Zayn would not mind the attention, but he knew that not even Necromancers dared to use human corpses when playing around with their powers because society would consider them Evil-doers.
There were more than enough evil Gods who gave their Blessings to humans but that didn\'t mean the Blessed would awaken humans from the dead.
Zayn\'s situation was not too different, and he would rather avoid trouble if possible. Thus, he was a little bit disturbed when he realized that the Human Spirit didn\'t fit on the snippet of the empty page.
The Human Spirit turned into a wisp that zoomed inside the Grimoire of the Ancient and the lower half of a Warhammer symbol formed on the empty snippet before the Human Spirit was expelled once again. It manifested in front of Zayn and looked at its master without a change in its expression.
"I know…I know…" Zayn mumbled while raising his hands exasperatedly. He was wondering if he should allow the Grimoire of the Ancient to devour some of his soul particles to expand the empty snippet. But that was not feasible because his control over the Human Spirit would decrease drastically the bigger the gap between their strength.
\'Two or three Goblin Spirits with the same amount of soul particles would fit on that snippet, but not you…\' Zayn murmured before he walked over to the entrance of the Goblin Cave with a shrug.
"Catch a bunch of Goblins without destroying their purple marble, and bring them to me," He ordered the Human Spirit who hesitated for a moment. It looked at him, or his injuries, to be precise.
"I won\'t stay outside while I\'m still injured. Just focus on crushing your opponents!"
Zayn took a glance at the dark surroundings of the open space and shook his head. The cavern entrance was certainly more secure than the unknown dangers he could encounter outside.
He was not able to fight properly right now because it would be annoying if his wounds were to tear open once again through sudden movements. Thus, the Human Spirit would have to fight the Undead in the cavern entrance that provided them with better visibility.
While the Human Spirit hesitated for a moment, Zayn stepped inside the illuminated cavern entrance.
There were a few Goblin Skeletons near the three cavern tunnels and they shot toward Zayn and the Human Spirit the moment they stepped inside the cavern entrance.
\'The Skeletons are actually confined to the Cave…just what happened here?\'
He was curious to learn more about the happenings of the Goblin Cave, but his interest was not high enough to distract him from the fight that was about to commence.
The Human Spirit stepped in front of Zayn, who went to the side to avoid causing trouble and be protected from behind due to the wall in his back. Zayn watched the Human Spirit grasping the tip of the long shaft of the Silver Iron Warhammer as he waited for the Goblin Skeletons to charge over.
Even if the Goblin Skeletons held spears, their range was much shorter than the range of the Silver Iron Warhammer which corresponded to the height of the Human Spirit. The spears of the Goblins were made proportional to their size, which gave the Human Spirit an advantage.
Keeping a firm and balanced stance on the ground, his waist and upper body twisted to the left, the Human Spirit accumulated enough momentum to hurl the Warhammer from left to right with a tremendous force when four Goblin Skeletons reached the Spirit\'s range of attack.
Within a moment the attack was completed, entire skeletons were crushed by the impact of the Warhammer, and flung through the cavern entrance.
"Damn…" Zayn blurted out subconsciously while watching the destruction caused by his Spirit.
The first Goblin Skeleton struck by the Warhammer was completely destroyed, and its Soul Wisp emerged from the damaged purple marble.
Zayn saw the Soul Wisp clearly but he didn\'t move toward it. The Soul Wisp was useless for him.
Because he didn\'t kill the Goblin Skeleton, he couldn\'t get the soul particles of its Soul Wisp. It was possible to extract its Soul Essence and manifest the Gobin Spirit but that was hardly helpful right now.
Zayn couldn\'t even properly handle one Spirit so there was no need to build an army of Spirit that didn\'t listen to him.
Furthermore, his soul was not strong enough to handle too many links with Spirits for the time being. He had to become a little bit stronger, which was why he continued to observe the Human Spirit that wreaked havoc on the remaining Goblin Skeletons whose purple marbles remained intact.
The Human Spirit used less force after the first faux-pas and its movements changed slightly the longer it fought against the Goblin Skeletons.
\'A fast adapter…very interesting!\'
